They are intended for cooling water and oil products by sea water (cooling fluid).
In type series are included heat exchanger surfaces from 0.6 ÷250 m2.
The coolers with heat exchange surface up to 32 m2 is provided to be secured by clamps, while those with heat exchange surface above 40 m2 have foundation on casing.
The constructions are in two main versions as regarda the element for cooling fluid inlet and outlet: with eliptical bottom and with chamber. The versions include different angles of arrangement of the inlet-outlet sleeves to the tube and intertube spaces and the position of mounting: horizontal and vertical.
Only geometric characteristics of articles are shown, since the thermal engineering and hydrodynamic ones depend on the parameters of the system in which they are included and are calculated for each particular case. For the purpose are necessary data for the flowrate and type of the cooled fluid, temperatures at its inlet and outlet from the cooler, flowrate and temperature at sea water outlet.
For tentative definition of the necessary heat exchanger surface the following coefficients of heat transfer can be used:
- sea water/ water: 1500 W/ (m2 .K)
- sea water/ fuel: 300 W/ (m2 .K)
- sea water/ oil: 200 W/ (m2 . K)
